  • AVERSION-FREE AVOIDANCE TRAININGS
Picture

Welcome! Tess (pictured here) and I are excited to have you visit!

Training is an investment into your life with your dog. I understand how important and valuable a well behaved and happy dog is. I will honor your investment and help you achieve your goals, whether that looks like a calm and safe family member or a working companion to help you excel in your profession or passion!
I have close to 20 years of education, real life experience, and practical work in family pet, working companion, and shelter/rescue pet training - my experiences include rehabilitation of feral/aggressive/fearful behavior, and practical work or trialing in herding, tracking, hunting, and agility.

I reside in Lander, WY but I offer services statewide, and regionally. Travel fees may apply to outlying  and Riverton areas. Video or phone consultation and online options are also available.

I OFFER RATTLESNAKE AVOIDANCE TRAINING, THAT DOES NOT EMPLOY THE USE OF SHOCK COLLARS OR OTHER AVERSIVE EQUIPMENT!
Dogs first initiated a relationship with humans based on mutual respect- not pain, fear, or force. Dogs are much smarter than we give them credit for, and many dogs will avoid snakes on their own. Certain breeds, however, are more prone to engage with a snake based upon predatory instincts. Using techniques gathered from many different training protocols, I have developed a course that WORKS, without fear or force, without shock collars, and is customizable for your dog and situation!

This type of training can be transferred to other avoidances, including skunks, porcupines, and TRAPS OR SNARES!
You will learn how to teach this to your dog
and how to transfer to a different avoidance
as needed. We can even add other
behaviors to indicate what your dog is
avoiding!
Examples: your dog returns to you, and if it was
a snake, they sit on the left. If it was a trap, they go
between your legs, if it was a porcupine, they paw your leg...
The possibilities are endless!

Animal Shelters, Rescues, and Fosters

When I first became a certified dog trainer, I lived in a small community and there were several "free" trainers, not certified, who offered their services to the public, free of charge, their experience based on years training their own dogs to compete in various sports or with clubs. I reached out to local shelters and rescues for "clients" and eventually began my own rescue.
I understand the challenges rescues and shelters face. Reach out to me! My best clients are shelters and rescues!
